By | October 14, 2024

Here, we’re going to count down our Top 10 gluten-free products at ALDI that we frequently buy. Hopefully, this helps you make your own gluten-free shopping list. Our list features a combination of ALDI’s proprietary private label gluten-free brand, LiveGfree, as well as other private label products offered by ALDI, which happen to be gluten free.

LiveGfree and other gluten-free products at ALDI: What you need to know

ALDI’s LiveGfree is a popular gluten-free brand offering a wide range of affordable products, from snacks to pantry staples. Known for its extensive selection, LiveGfree includes items like bread, pasta, frozen meals, cookies, and baking mixes—all certified gluten-free.

LiveGfree is designed for individuals with celiac disease or gluten intolerance who seek quality and affordability. The brand is exclusive to ALDI and has gained a strong following due to its flavor, variety, and budget-friendly pricing.

ALDI also periodically releases limited-time seasonal products under the LiveGfree label. Some are truly a Godsend. (hint: we’re talking about gluten-free stuffing for the upcoming holidays, and seasonally flavored gluten-free donuts, including pumpkin and gingerbread!).

So, let’s get to it!

Here is our countdown of go-to gluten-free products at ALDI

#10  LiveGfree Bread

ALDI LiveGfree gluten-free bread

ALDI’s LiveGfree gluten-free bread is a popular choice for those avoiding gluten. The bread is well-liked for both its flavor and value, according to consumer reviews. The bread comes in two varieties, white and whole grain.

It’s often praised for its soft texture and taste, which closely mimics regular bread. Unlike many gluten-free breads, it doesn’t need to be frozen before use and holds up well for sandwiches and toast. It’s also competitively priced compared to other gluten-free bread brands, making it an appealing option for budget-conscious shoppers.

All in all, and penny for the pound, ALDI’s LiveGfree bread is a solid alternative to pricier gluten-free bread brands.

#9  LiveGfree General Tso’s Chicken

ALDI liveGfree General Tso's Chicken

ALDI’s LiveGfree General Tso’s Chicken is a popular gluten-free option for fans of Asian-inspired meals. Sold in the frozen section, this dish features crispy chicken in a sweet and slightly spicy General Tso’s sauce.

According to product reviews, consumers often praise the dish for its convenient preparation and satisfying flavor, especially for a frozen gluten-free option. However, some reviewers mention that the sauce can be a bit too sweet for their liking and wish there were more vegetables included. To overcome the veggie issue, we add fresh broccoli when preparing it at home and serve over rice. But we agree, ALDI could have a bigger hit on its hands if they added some vegetables to this product.

Overall, we think ALDI’s LiveGfree General Tso’s Chicken is a solid choice for a quick and affordable gluten-free dinner.

#8  LiveGfree Cornbread Mix

ALDI liveGfree gluten-free cornbread

ALDI’s LiveGfree Cornbread Mix is a gluten-free option for those who miss traditional cornbread. Sold in the dry goods / baking section, it’s easy to prepare and yields a moist, flavorful cornbread with a slightly sweet taste. We think it compares favorably to Jiffy cornbread mixes made with gluten.

According to the product reviews, consumers say it closely resembles regular cornbread, which can be hard to find in gluten-free. On the other hand, some reviews mention that the mix can be a bit crumbly. This is especially so if you cut it too soon after baking.

Overall, we think it’s a great option for family dinners or holiday meals, providing a satisfying alternative for gluten-free eaters. We also have been known to use the cornbread as a base for a strawberry shortcake-like treat!

#7  LiveGfree Stuffing Mix (seasonal)

Aldi LiveGfree gluten-free stuffing

ALDI’s LiveGfree Stuffing Mix is a gluten-free version of the classic holiday side dish. This stuffing mix is quick to prepare and has a traditional savory flavor with herbs.

Product reviewers often commend the item’s ability to mimic the texture and taste of regular stuffing, making it a hit at gluten-free holiday dinners. Some consumers note that the mix can be slightly dry if not prepared with enough liquid. A few suggest adding butter or broth for extra moisture.

Of course, you can follow the directions on the box, and it comes out perfectly fine – it’s quick and easy. However, we mostly use the boxed ingredients as the “guts” for our stuffing following a family recipe (using gluten-free chicken broth, chopped celery and onions, and melted butter). It’s delicious. We serve it to our non-celiac family members, and they can’t really tell the difference.

#6  Millville Crispy Rice

ALDI Millville Crispy Rice cereal

Millville Crispy Rice, sold at ALDI, is a budget-friendly cereal option that often draws comparisons to Kellogg’s Rice Krispies. Consumers appreciate its affordability and similar taste, making it a great option for those looking for a good gluten-free cold cereal. Be extra cautious to buy the boxes labelled as “gluten free,” since it’s our understanding that there could be boxes that aren’t labelled this way.

In addition to an easy breakfast, maybe the best thing about Millville Crispy Rice cereal is using it to make homemade treats, like crispy rice squares (aka Rice Krispy Treats). Or you can buy the boxed 8-pack Millville Crispy Rice Treats also sold at ALDI. They’re good in a pinch when you’re looking for a sweet treat and because they come individually wrapped, they make a great school lunch snack. With Halloween quickly approaching, these could come in handy as a gluten-free Halloween treat too!

#5  Clancy’s White Cheddar Cheese Popcorn

ALDI Clancy's Cheese Popcorn

Clancy’s White Cheddar Cheese Popcorn is second to none. It’s a favorite among gluten-free snackers, including us! Labeled as gluten-free, this popcorn is coated in a rich, cheesy flavor that many reviewers rave about for being both delicious and satisfying. Consumers often mention how it rivals more expensive brands in taste and freshness, making it a popular pick for a gluten-free salty snack option.

Clancy’s White Cheddar Cheese Popcorn has also earned accolades, including a Gluten-Free Buyers Guide award for its great taste and value, further boosting its reputation. We love it!

#4  Choceur Dark Chocolate Blueberry Acai

ALDI Choceur Dar Chocolate Blueberry Acai

Choceur Dark Chocolate Blueberry Acai, sold at ALDI, is a gluten-free indulgence that blends rich dark chocolate with the fruity flavors of blueberry and acai. There is also a Pomegranate variety available too.

According to product reviews, consumers love the combination of sweet and tart notes from the fruit with the smooth, velvety chocolate. Many reviews highlight the high-quality taste, comparing it to more expensive, premium chocolates, yet at a fraction of the price.

For those of us with celiac disease or gluten sensitivities, this delicious treat is clearly labeled gluten-free and is hard to beat when seeking a small and satisfying guilt-free luxurious snack!

#3  LiveGfree Brownie Mix

ALDI LiveGfree gluten-free Brownie Mix

ALDI’s LiveGgree Gluten-Free Brownie Mix is a good option for those craving rich, fudgy brownies without gluten. According to product reviews, consumers like how easy these brownies are to prepare. And we couldn’t agree more. Just add eggs, oil, and water, and voila!

We think the indulgent chocolate flavor rivals that of traditional brownie mixes. Friends and family can’t tell their gluten-free without us telling them. We add a handful of chocolate chips to the mix for a more decadent experience. Adding nuts is a good option as well.

#2  LiveGfree Donuts (seasonal)

ALDI LiveGfree gluten-free donuts

ALDI’s LiveGfree Gluten-Free Donuts are a delicious treat for those avoiding gluten. When available, the donuts come in both chocolate and glazed varieties. The donuts are stored in the frozen section and can be heated for a fresh-from-the-bakery experience.

According to product reviews, consumers frequently praise these donuts for their soft, moist texture, which is often hard to find in gluten-free baked goods. Plenty of reviewers say they taste just as good as traditional donuts.

We agree. We have been known to buy maybe a half dozen or so boxes at a time to store in our freezer. This is because it’s an in-and-out item at ALDI. You never know when you’ll find them in stores. And when they are in stock, they sell out FAST.

Also, be sure to watch for seasonal varieties of LiveGfree donuts during holiday time. In the past, ALDI has offered gluten-free donuts in cranberry, gingerbread, and pumpkin flavors.

#1  LiveGfree Supreme Sampler Cheesecake (seasonal)

Gluten-free products at Aldi_Cheesecake

You had me at gluten-free cheesecake. Need we say more? Our gut reaction is to literally cry every time ALDI brings this delectable product back into stores. And let us tell you, it’s not often enough. This absolutely is one item that we wish they’d carry year-round. At least bring it back more often than once a year, ALDI. It’s really that GOOD!

Despite taking up a lot of freezer space, we always buy several when they are available. At $10.99 for an 8-count box, it gets a bit pricey, but well worth it. This is especially true if you think of it in terms of price per piece. At $1.37 per generous slice of gluten-free cheesecake, it’s a bargain in our book. It’s a treat that can’t be beat. Unfortunately, our waistline doesn’t agree!

And there you have it, folks! We hope you find our Top 10 countdown useful. Get out and try some of these gluten-free products at ALDI. Please let us know which products are your favorites or if we missed anything on our list.

Happy gluten-free shopping!
