UK-based Gosh! Free-From offers a range of nutritional free-from meals that are convenient and made from healthy ingredients such as quinoa, linseed, pumpkin, spinach, beetroot, chai, flax and kale. The company’s latest product introduction: Beetroot, Kale and Quinoa Burgers, which also includes chickpea, coriander and mint. Gosh! items are free from the 14 most common allergens and are suitable for vegetarians, vegans and celiacs.

Australian snack food producer The Vege Chip Company is set to export its products to China, marking the firm’s first foray into an overseas market. It produces gluten-free products including Ajitas Vege Chips and Deli Crisps Original, which it supplies to Woolworths and Coles in Australia. The company recently signed a deal with Walmart in China to supply 300 stores there. Vege Chip Company managing director Rob Crisfield said, “The product demand is growing rapidly. Every year we see 20 to 30 per cent growth.”

The Arizona-based Grabbagreen fast casual restaurant chain specializing in gluten-free foods is expanding into the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. The first location is expected to open in late November at 3417 Gaston Ave. Another 20 DFW franchised locations are in the works.

The Good Scone offers gluten-free vanilla and chocolate cake mixes along with a gluten-free all-purpose flour. The company was created by Tricia Fages of Point Loma, CA. Fagas noted, “We do not have a storefront. We have a certified-organic, gluten- and dairy-free manufacturer in Vista.” The Good Scone’s products are also sold nationwide at select grocery outlets as well as over its website and Amazon.

In what appears to be an unprecedented move for a college campus, the University of Connecticut has indicated that all residential dining halls and its Union Street Market will switch to using only a gluten-free, vegan pizza crust. Robert Landolphi, the culinary operations manager for UConn Dining Services said the decision was made to use the gluten-free crust in all residential dining halls following a tasting with non-gluten-free students. “They all liked it a lot.”
